1996 LEGISLATIVE REPORT
Project Reports

 22. PROJECT:Corner Mountain Water Supply
LEVEL:I
SPONSOR:North Fork Homeowner's Association
LOCATION:Albany County
PROGRAM:New Development

EXISTING LEGISLATION:
Purpose Chapter Session Account Appropriation Due Date
Level I 8 1995 I $25,000 1996

PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Corner Mountain area is located north of Centennial, Wyoming. The association includes 35 to 40 existing homes. The association requested WWDC assistance to determine the feasibility of constructing a centralized water system. The WWDC conducted a Level I analysis of the areas around Centennial, Wyoming. The study identified over 300 homes that might be served with a centralized water system. The association is in the process of assessing interest and forming a water and sewer district.

The Level I study delineated the potential service areas, identified and evaluate water supply alternatives, and developed preliminary plans and cost estimates. Drilling a groundwater well appears to be the best alternative at this point. Pumping water from Centennial was analyzed, however, it was too costly to be given further consideration.

RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends that the project be placed at Level II-Hold status.
