PROJECT INFORMATION:
The water supply system for the community of Lance Creek was constructed
by an oil company in 1946. There are 11 miles of lines providing water
for agricultural, industrial, commercial and domestic uses through a
total of 25 taps. The three wells are 50 years old and may be on the
verge of failure. There are leaks in the transmission lines and
distribution system. The system is currently operated as a private
utility.
The Level I study identified the service area and estimated demands.
The study also considered alternative water supply sources, evaluated
the existing system, prioritized recommended improvements and developed
preliminary cost estimates.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The Commission recommends that this project be placed on a Level II-Hold
status.
