PROJECT INFORMATION:
The town is presently served by two wells about 200 feet deep into the
Arikaree Formation. The wells are 70 years old, located only about 30
feet apart in the same building and may be on the verge of casing
failure. The town recently completed renovation of their 25,000 gallon
storage tank using Farm Loan Board funds, and has diligently maintained
the distribution portion of their system.
This Level II project would consist of a well siting study, construction
and testing of production-sized well, and conceptual plans and cost
estimates for converting the test well to production status and
connecting the new well to the town's existing distribution system.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The Commission recommends that the project be incorporated into the
New Development Program at Level II with a budget of $200,000.
