1997 LEGISLATIVE REPORT
Active Projects
30. | PROJECT: | Evanston Master Plan | | | | | |
| LEVEL: | New Application |
| SPONSOR: | City of Evanston |
| LOCATION: | Uinta County |
| PROGRAM: | New Development |
PROJECT INFORMATION:
Evanston has experienced considerable growth and is nearing the capacity
of its water supply system. The city presently has adequate raw water
supply and reservoir storage. A major problem is the demand for treated
water to irrigate parks, ball field and other large green areas. The
city's system uses water from the Bear River and Sulphur Creek Reservoir
as well as four in-town wells. The application requests that the
resources be evaluated to determine the most cost effective means of
providing an adequate water supply to the residents of Evanston in the
future.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends the project be incorporated into the New Development
Program at Level II status with an appropriation of $85,000.
