PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Town of Thayne supplies water to 150 taps. The water supply system consists of a spring collection system which is pumped into a storage tank. The tank is located on a hillside approximately one mile from the corporate limits. The system cannot meet the present water demands including the fire flow requirements. There are plans to construct a new secondary school in town. Further, Thayne would like to expand through annexation but cannot provide the water for the proposed expansion. The system may need additional supply, transmission, and storage facilities.

The Level I study inventoried the existing system, evaluated water supply needs, and evaluated water supply alternatives for the Town of Thayne and the Bedford Water and Sewer District. Preliminary plans and cost estimates were developed for the preferred alternative. The Level II, currently underway, will include a water supply plan for the Town of Thayne, the Bedford Water and Sewer District and Turnerville (the Willow Creek Pipeline Company).
