2000 LEGISLATIVE REPORT
Active Projects

 01. PROJECT:Afton Water Supply
LEVEL:III
SPONSOR:Town of Afton
LOCATION:Lincoln County
PROGRAM:Rehabilitation

EXISTING LEGISLATION:
Purpose Chapter Session Account Appropriation Due Date
Level II 81 1999 II $75,000 2000

PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Town of Afton wishes to pursue construction of the Periodic Springs pipeline. The construction effort will consist of wall rock, rubble, boulder removal and importation of bedding material and concrete to set a pipe bed, then installation of approximately 1000 feet of pipeline from the spring outlet down (approx. 170 foot elevation drop) to the existing 97,000 gallon storage tank. The existing pipeline is quite vulnerable, i.e., subject to rockfall, therefore it is critical to the town's water supply that the pipeline be replaced and securely re-routed.

RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends the project be incorporated in the Rehabilitation Program at Level III with an appropriation of $450,000. The financing plan includes a 50% grant, $225,000 and a 50% loan, $225,000 at 7.25% interest for 30 years.
