PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Town of Dayton would like to pursue a detailed cost analysis of alleviating the turbidity
problems experienced in the raw water intake used by Dayton on the Tongue River. A Level I
Master Plan study funded by the WWDC in 2000 looked very briefly at this problem and basically
identified its existence. The level I study listed two alternatives; "A" and "B" as most feasible.
Alternative "A" would be to reconstruct the existing infiltration gallery and install variable
frequency drives on influent water pumps. Alternative "B" would be to relocate the infiltration
gallery and construct an upstream presedimentation basin.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends the project be incorporated into the Rehabilitation Program at Level II
with an appropriation of $50,000.
