PROJECT INFORMATION:
The North Platte River has experienced increased pressure through the Endangered Species Act and
the Section 7 Consultation actions required by the US Fish & Wildlife for North Platte River
depletions. The Tribes are interested in marketing a portion of their decreed water. The state and
Tribes are interested in determining the least environmentally damaging and most economic route
and means for diverting water from the Wind River system to the North Platte River. The study
will evaluate the potentials of alternative power sources as well as power generation potentials.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends that the project be retained at Level I and no legislative action is
necessary.
