2002 LEGISLATIVE REPORT
Active Projects

 47. PROJECT:Granger Water Supply
LEVEL:I
SPONSOR:Town of Granger
LOCATION:Sweetwater County
PROGRAM:Rehabilitation

EXISTING LEGISLATION:
Purpose Chapter Session Account Appropriation Due Date
Level I 36 2000 II $35,000 2002

PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Town of Granger would like to pursue a level II study as recommended in the level I study completed in 2000. The level II study will study the possibility of renegotiating a long term use contract with FMC. This new agreement should allow for Granger's permanent use of the pipeline while still allowing FMC to shut off the pipeline for maintenance. Additional negotiations should also be conducted with Little America which would allow for emergency use of Little America's water intake facility located on the Ham's Fork.

The level I study also indicated that there may be leaks with in the distribution system, the level II study would conduct leak testing to determine the location and amount of any leaks within the distribution system.

Cost analysis of additional pipeline to increase pressures for fire flows and to meet DEQ standards should also be conducted.

RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
No legislative action is required at this time.
