The Oakley Subdivision organized as the Oakley Improvement and Service District and received a 2001 Level III appropriation in the amount of $176,000 to construct a 4 inch transmission line from the Kemmerer-Diamondville Joint Powers Board hookup in Diamondville and running along Wyoming Highway 30 across the Hams Fork River and Union Pacific railroad into Oakley. The Sponsor's 50% funding was obtained as a loan from the Wyoming Drinking Water State Revolving Fund. The project design, by Sunrise Engineering, Inc., was completed in Summer 2001. Project construction was completed in November 2001.
