PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Tribes were awarded water to irrigate the Riverton East Project in Fremont County east of the
city of Riverton and east of the Wind River. The project is to irrigate about 3900 to 4000 acres of
presently undeveloped range land. Nelson Engineering Inc. of Jackson Wyoming was retained to
conduct the Level II analysis. The project reviewed the studies done to date and determined the most
feasible project configuration. Irrigating the area by means of sprinkler irrigation from the Wind
River and/or Little Wind River is the most advantageous. The study also evaluated the potential of
using alternate means to power the pumps, such as natural gas. The study is complete.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
No legislative action is necessary.
