2003 LEGISLATIVE REPORT
Active Projects

 47. PROJECT:Granger Water Supply
LEVEL:II
SPONSOR:Town of Granger
LOCATION:Sweetwater County
PROGRAM:Rehabilitation

EXISTING LEGISLATION:
Purpose Chapter Session Account Appropriation Due Date
Level I 36 2000 II $35,000 2001
Level II 7 2001 II $65,000 2003

PROJECT INFORMATION:
The proposed level II study will determine the level of system improvements that may be required to facilitate the negotiation of a long term contract with FMC. This new agreement should allow for Granger's permanent use of the pipeline while still allowing FMC to shut off the pipeline for maintenance. Additional negotiations should also be conducted with Little America, which would allow for emergency use of Little America's water intake facility located on the Ham's Fork.

The level II study would include a leak testing analysis to determine the location and amount of any leaks within the distribution system.

Cost analysis of additional pipeline to increase pressures to meet fire flows and to meet DEQ standards will also be conducted.

RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
No legislative action is required at this time.
