PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Lovell Irrigation District would like to pursue a detailed cost analysis of the rehabilitation of
several locations in its irrigation canal system. The District would like to convert several problem
areas of the current ditch system into pipe drop structure type conveyances to eliminate seepage
losses. At the same time, the District would also like a detailed cost analysis to determine the
feasibility and cost of placing hydropower generators in these new drop structures. This study
will also include a study or the transmission requirements to get the generated power to a power
user.
This is a two-year study with the final report due May 2003.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
No legislative action is required.
