PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Salt Creek Water District wishes to make improvements to their existing system. The district
also wishes to build pipelines to connect to a regional, Newcastle area system that was
recommended in the 1999 Level II study. This project includes the district's purchase of the
SCWD No. 1 Well drilled by WWDC in 1999 with directional drilling technology and completed
in the Madison formation aquifer.
The Level III appropriation will finance purchase of the pump, plumbing, and controls to connect
the SCWD No. 1 Well into the district's water delivery system. The appropriation will also
finance construction of a pipeline to connect the well and to replace old transmission pipe.
Construction is underway on the well appurtenances and control building. Design is complete on
the transmission pipeline, with construction and completion of the project anticipated in 2003.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
No legislative action is required.
