LEVEL:N/A
SPONSOR:State
LOCATION:Statewide
PROGRAM:New Development/Rehabilitation

EXISTING LEGISLATION:
Purpose Chapter Session Account Appropriation Due Date
Small Projects 7 2002 I & II $1,000,000 N/A

PROJECT INFORMATION:
The purpose of the small water development project program is to leverage existing technical services and funding programs that may be available to facilitate rehabilitation of existing and construction of new small water development projects. Small water projects are those projects frequently constructed on private, state and federal lands that have or may be capable of providing multiple benefits. Projects may include small reservoirs and stock watering ponds, pumped wells, windmills, springs and wetland development. These small projects may provide habitat and water for wildlife, increase recreational opportunities, provide water for maintenance of the integrity and vitality of plant and animal communities and serve as instruments to improve rangeland condition.

RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The Water Development Commission recommends that the pilot project be expanded to cover the entire state.
