2004 Legislative Session Approvals

During the 2004 Legislative Session the WWDC was fairly successful. There were 33 planning project requests approved.

The Small Water Development Projects Program was amended and funding was increased. The changes included adding irrigation as a purpose and increasing the eligible size of the project. Projects were limited to an estimated cost of $50,000. That limit was raised to $100,000, however, WWDC participation was held at $25,000 maximum. The funding for the program was increased from $1,000,000 to $2,500,000. Funding is split evenly between new development and rehabilitation.


BEAR RIVER

In the Bear River Drainage the new planning projects approved were:
Statewide Water Research$200,000
Evanston/Bear River Regional Water Supply $70,000

In the Bear River Drainage there were no new construction projects approved.


GREEN RIVER

In the Green River Drainage the new planning projects approved were:
Statewide Water Research $200,000
Baggs Water and Raw Water Supply $ 50,000
Weather Modification(Upper Wind River Range) $100,000
Green River Canal PAM Study $ 40,000
Washam Water Supply $ 40,000

In the Green River Drainage there was one new construction project approved.
Grieve and Cottonwood Creek Dams $5,800,000


SNAKE/SALT RIVERS

In the Snake/Salt Drainage the new planning projects approved were:
Statewide Water Research $200,000
Alta Test Well $ 65,000
Kennington Springs $100,000

In the Snake/Salt Drainage there were two new construction projects approved.
Bedford Water Tank (50% Grant only) $500,000
Turnerville Water Supply (50% Grant only) $587,750


WIND/BIGHORN RIVER

In the Wind/Bighorn River Drainage the new planning projects approved were:

In the Powder/Tongue Rivers Drainage the new planning projects approved were:

Lake DeSmet Master Plan Phase 2 $150,000
Mead Creek Ditch $ 75,000

In the Powder/Tongue Rivers Drainage there was one new construction projects approved.
Dayton Well Purchase & Mitigation $ 3,000


NORTHEAST WYOMING

In the Northeast Wyoming Drainages the new planning projects approved were:
Statewide Water Research $200,000
Crook County Reservoirs & Water Management $150,000
Canyon Water supply $600,000
Eight Mile-High Plains Well $ 60,000

In the Northeast Wyoming Drainages there were three new construction projects approved.
