1997 LEGISLATIVE REPORT
Active Projects

 35. PROJECT:Gillette Rehabilitation
LEVEL:New Application
SPONSOR:City of Gillette
LOCATION:Campbell County
PROGRAM:Rehabilitation

PROJECT INFORMATION:
In a related project, two Madison Well Field wells have been drilled and will be placed into operation in 1997. During the design of these two wells it was determined that the existing electrical distribution system for the Madison Well Field is inadequate. The condition will become more critical once the two new wells are placed on line. The project entails the installation of new electrical distribution cable, new transformers, a grounding system, new surge arresters, new switch gear, and new electrical controls. The installation of the needed equipment will improve operational efficiency. It will also improve safety of well field operations.

RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
It is recommended that the project be introduced as a Level III rehabilitation project. The recommended appropriation is $300,000 in grant funds for 50% of project costs. It is also recommended that the sponsor secure funding from other sources.
