Project Reports
27. | PROJECT: | Downer Neighborhood Water Supply | | | | | |
| LEVEL: | New Application |
| SPONSOR: | City of Sheridan (for the Soldier Creek Water Company) |
| LOCATION: | Sheridan County |
| PROGRAM: | Rehabilitation |
PROJECT INFORMATION:
The Downer Neighborhood is an area on the northeast edge of Sheridan and
served by the Soldier Creek Water Company from the City of Sheridan's
system. There are 125 taps in the project which was built in 1948. Due
to its age the system is needing substantial rehabilitation and
improvement. The City of Sheridan is sponsoring the project because of
its desire to assist in the improvement of regional water service. The
Soldier Creek Water Company is scheduled to hold a district formation
election on January 19, 1998. Proceeding with this project will be
contingent on the successful passage of the district formation in the
election.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends that the project be incorporated into the
Rehabilitation Program at Level II with a proposed appropriation of
$75,000.00.
