PROJECT INFORMATION:
Antelope Valley wishes to purchase Well No. 5, emplaced by WWDC in 1999,
and make improvements to their water system as delineated in the 1999
Level II study. Construction tasks include; 1) Install pump, well house,
appurtenances at Well No. 5 and, 2) Install chlorine feed system at
storage site. The Level II study was a combined project that included
analysis of Antelope Valley and Crestview Estates subdivisions.
Concurrent Level III construction at Crestview Estates will complete a
connection between the two districts and enable Antelope Valley to provide
Crestview Estates with a water supply on an as-needed and/or emergency basis.
RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends the project be advanced to Level III in the New
Development Program with an appropriation of $170,000 and provide a special
condition to allow purchase of Well No. 5 by the district for $43,129.60
(40% of cost). The financing plan includes a 60% grant, $102,000 and a 40%
loan, $68,000 at 7.25% interest for 30 years.
