PROJECT INFORMATION:
Salt Creek Water District wishes to make improvements to their existing system as well as join in a regional, Newcastle area system as explored in the 1999 Level II study by WWDC. This project includes the district's purchase of the SCWD No. 1 Well drilled by WWDC in 1999 with directional drilling technology and completed in the Madison formation aquifer.

RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends the project be advanced to Level III in the New Development Program with an appropriation of $690,000. The financing plan includes a grant of 60%, $414,000 and a loan of 40%, $276,000. The financing plan also provides a special condition to allow purchase of the test well by the district for $125,800 (40% of the actual cost). The financing would include a 60% grant for $414,000 and a 40% loan of $276,000 at 7.25% interest for 30 years.
