Active Projects

109.PROJECT:Sheridan Hydro Power
LEVEL:New Application
SPONSOR:City of Sheridan
LOCATION:Sheridan County
PROGRAM:New Development

PROJECT INFORMATION:
The City of Sheridan would like to pursue a detailed cost analysis of the rehabilitation of its 16 inch raw water feed line and a detailed cost analysis to determine the feasibility and cost of placing hydropower generators in their raw water system. Their system has three raw water supply lines that are potential sources of hydropower pressure. The Beckton Hall pressure reduction vault has both 20 and 30 inch lines. These two lines run 250 psi dropped to 85 psi. The vault was designed with hydropower in mind. The third vault has the 16 inch line with current corrosion problems. The corrosion in this line has severely restricted the flow. Line cleaning or replacement options will be part of the study. This study will also include a study or the transmission requirements to get the generated power to a power user.

RECOMMENDED LEGISLATIVE ACTION:
The WWDC recommends the project be incorporated into the Rehabilitation Program at Level II with an appropriation of $50,000.
