This project would provide funding for the design and construction of a new well, new storage, and
pipeline to connect the improvements to the town of Wheatland's system. The improvements would
provide additional supply to the southwest portion of town. This area includes a new school that can
not be used until sufficient water supply in the area is available.
The project has been included at Level III status in the Rehabilitation Program with an appropriation
of $222,000. The total project budget is estimated to be $854,000. The financing plan is a 26%
grant, $222,000, and 74% of the project budget being secured by the sponsor through other sources.
Plans have been prepared and construction of the water storage tank has begun. Plans have been
prepared for the pressure reducing vaults and construction is expected to begin early in 2002.
