Project Understanding
The recent failures of critical irrigation infrastructure in the State have highlighted the need to discover imminent failures before they occur.
- Wyoming has a rich and colorful history of irrigation stemming from pre-statehood and continuing through today
- Many of the original structures are still in use
- Failure of key structures can result in significant economic impacts
Goals
- Identify, prioritize, and evaluate the critical irrigation infrastructure in Wyoming
- Build off of the WWDO Irrigation System Survey
- Identify funding needs and potential funding sources
- Identify the constraints that impact project implementation (ownership, permitting, etc.)
